Father Philip Murphy

The Parish Priest is Father Philip Murphy

After a Law degree Darwin College, the University of Kent at Canterbury, Father Philip trained for the Priesthood at The Theological College, Chichester in England. He served curacies at the Parishes of St John the Baptist, Broadstone in the Diocese of Salisbury and then at Ss Peter and Paul Teddington with Ss Michael and George Fulwell in the Diocese of London. In 1996 he was made Incumbent of the Parish of St Margaret of Antioch, Leytonstone in East London.

In 2001 he moved to be Rector of the Parish of Benalla in the Diocese of Wangaratta before moving to St Mark's in 2004.

Although born in the United Kingdom, he grew up in Hong Kong, but his family is all from from Sydney. His immediate family live in Brisbane.

Father Philip is a Member of the College Council of Trinity College, the University of Melbourne, representing the Diocese of Wangaratta.
