How you can help

There are many ways in which you can help us in our outreach at the Centre. Everything from prayer through to volunteering, and much else in-between! If you have an interest in helping in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are proud to be supported by individuals, schools, corporations, parishes and trusts. There is always room for more support and we welcome discussing these possibilities with you.

You can help in the following ways:

  • Christmas Parcels - for the Community Centre. We need: Tinned Hams (340g) Christmas Cakes (100g) Christmas Puddings (100g) Shortbread Biscuits (150g) Lollies (packets) Mince Pies (packs) Small packets of teabags, small jars of coffee and sugar, 200 ml cartons of milk, toiletries. Parcels will be given out in the week before Christmas, so items are needed now please. Thank you for your support.
  • Prayer
Please pray for the work and witness of the Centre. For our staff, volunteers, clients and all who support the Centre and for Anglicare Victoria. In addition the 11.00 am Mass on Wednesday at St Mark's is said with special intention for the Centre, and on Thursdays for Anglicare Victoria.
  • Volunteering
We have many different ways in which volunteers give their help. Some at the Centre behind the scenes (such as preparing food parcels) and some with client contact (such as on the Reception desk). There are also roles at the Op Shop. The chances are that if you have the time, we can probably find you a role! Please contact Robin to register your interest.
  • Food Donations
Our food parcels are a major part of our outreach, through the year as well as special parcels at Christmas. See the information to the right with the items we commonly need.
  • Op Shop items
Clothes, household items (pots pans, plates etc), books, records, CD's - all of these items are welcome. Because of space restrictions we cannot take large furniture items - but do call us in case we know of a client who may be in need of it. Owing to insurance we cannot take electrical items.
  • Monetary Donations
We rely on the generosity of those who make these donations to us. (Donations of $2 and above are tax deductible). Please visit our donation page on this website for more details.
  • Make a Bequest
Your bequest can ensure the ongoing work of the Centre well into the future. Please visit our bequest page on this website for more details.
  • Corporate Partnerships and Trusts
If you believe that St Mark's Community Centre could make a good partnership with your business, or if you would like to support our work through your Trust, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
