Following its acclaimed premier at the 2025 fortyfivedownstairs Chamber Music Festival, this extraordinary program returns by popular demand - an unmissable afternoon of bold, rarely heard repertoire. Experience one of classical music’s most revolutionary works in a dazzling display of virtuosity and passion. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, Eroica - a piece that changed the course of music - takes on thrilling new dimensions in Ferdinand Rie’s electrifying quartet arrangement. A close friend and student of Beethoven, Ries distils the symphony’s grandeur into an intimate chamber setting that demands fearless precision and spirited interplay. Internationally acclaimed artists Sophie Rowell (violin), Caroline Henbest (viola), Josephine Vains (cello), and Coady Green (piano) reimagine this masterpiece with fire, finesse, and astonishing clarity. A rare chance to hear Eroica as you have never heard it before - intimate, immediate, and unforgettable.
